Farm events in Sarasota are growing in popularity precisely because they offer something the usual entertainment calendar doesn’t: a sense of place, purpose, and genuine human connection. At Moore Bliss Farm on Bliss Road, that’s exactly what we’ve been building — a rotating calendar of events grounded in the rhythms of the farm and the seasons of Florida.
What Happens at Moore Bliss Farm
From weekly composting nights to seasonal dinners, here’s what the farm calendar looks like.
Compost Monday
Every Monday evening at 5 PM, the farm gates open for Sarasota’s favorite weekly ritual. Neighbors arrive with containers of food scraps, help turn the compost pile, and often stay for a farm-cooked meal. It’s part workshop, part community dinner, and entirely free of pretension.
Every Monday at 5:00 PM · Free to attend
Farm-to-Table Dinners
Seasonal dinner events bring a chef to the farm to cook a full meal using produce from the garden. Guests eat outside, surrounded by the growing beds, under the Florida sky. These intimate dinners are among the most memorable food experiences in Sarasota — nothing shipped in, nothing processed.

Cooking Classes
Hands-on cooking classes at Moore Bliss Farm teach participants how to cook with whatever’s in season — which in Florida means something different every month. You’ll leave with new skills, real recipes, and a deeper relationship with the ingredients that grow in Sarasota’s subtropical climate.
Monthly sessions · Registration required
Dinner & Movie Nights
A farm dinner followed by an environmental film screening and open discussion. These evenings attract a thoughtful crowd — people interested in food systems, sustainability, and what it means to live more lightly in Sarasota. Think good food, honest conversation, and films that make you think.

School & Group Visits
Moore Bliss Farm is actively developing educational programming for local schools — starting with nearby McIntosh Middle School in Sarasota. Farm tours, hands-on composting demonstrations, and soil science lessons show students what sustainable agriculture looks like from the inside.

Private Events
The farm’s natural setting — fruit trees, vegetable beds, native Florida plantings — makes it a stunning backdrop for private gatherings. From intimate celebration dinners to wellness retreats and yoga mornings, the farm space can be arranged for groups seeking something genuinely unique in Sarasota.

What to Expect When You Attend
Farm events at Moore Bliss Farm are casual in the best possible way. You don’t need to know anything about composting, farming, or cooking to belong here. Events draw a cross-section of Sarasota — longtime residents and newcomers, families and solo adults, people who garden and people who have never grown a thing in their lives.
Parking is available on Bliss Road. Dress for being outdoors — comfortable shoes are a good idea, especially if you’re joining Compost Monday and planning to get into the garden. Most events are held in the evening when the Florida heat is kinder, though the farm is genuinely beautiful at any time of day.
For ticketed events like farm dinners and cooking classes, spots fill up quickly — the farm is small and intimate by design. Signing up early is always the right move. For Compost Monday, no registration is needed: just show up at 5 PM with your food scraps or empty hands, and you’re welcome.
